Why This Podcast?
As my children, nieces, and nephews get older, I discuss meaningful issues with them. We didn’t talk about these topics just five or six years ago. We talk about finding careers that match their passions. We talk about how to craft a purpose that can guide each of us in life. We also talk about the risks posed by artificial intelligence and automation. These technologies create potential landmines for the future of jobs in general.
In recent years, I have engaged more with college students and law school students. I have also increased my engagement with young and mid-career lawyers. My 31 years and counting as a lawyer and administrative law judge give me some valuable insights. I want to share them with those who are interested.
One-on-one mentoring that is nurtured over time is the best. But when that’s not possible, “micro-mentoring” is helpful. I define micro-mentoring as short, focused transfers of knowledge and insight.
I wanted to amplify the mentoring that I do and to go beyond my own experience. I wanted to tap into the extensive network of amazing people whom I call colleagues and friends. They come from all walks of life, not just the law. That is why I initiated a project to build a new podcast.
Purpose, Passion, & Profession
This podcast offers micro-mentoring. It engages with interesting people to explore how they integrate their passions and purpose with their profession. While this project is not my “profession,” it is a product of my passion and purpose. Please check it out, subscribe to the YouTube channel, watch and like our episodes, and share them with others!
